Dabar is a literary term that is associated with “dreams,” “visions,” or other mysterious forms of divine encounter. In the text, dabar was an indicator to the reader of the ways that God was at work ruling and reigning in the world. By comparison, mention of dreams vision angels or other heavenly manifestations within the biblical texts, without actual references to dabar, still served as cues the Hebraic reader to infer God’s visitation and activity by means of His dabar.”
