Matthew 28:19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations…
Baptize!
Matthew 28:19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son and Holy Spirit.
Mark 16:16 Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved…
Teach!
Matthew 28:20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you…
What did Christ promise through fulfilling The Great Commission?
Salvation for those who believe
Mark 16:16 Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved…(rescued from the guilt and power of sin)
Condemnation for those who do not believe
Mark 16:16 …but anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned (declared guilty of their sin).
Miraculous signs will follow those who believe
Mark 16:17, 18 These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe:
- They will cast out demons in my name.
- The will speak in new languages (They shall speak with new tongues [KJV]).
- They will be supernaturally protected.
- They will lay hands on the sick, and they will be healed.
Jesus will be with us always
Matthew 28:20 …and be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of this age.
Focus of Commissioned Ministries
As we “go” through life’s journey, we are to share (preach, announce) the Good News and make disciples (learners) by teaching them all the commands Jesus had given the original disciples. It is a perpetual process that is to be continued until Christ’s return. As we fulfill the Great Commission, we believe that we will receive the promises outlined in the word.
